Professional Experiences

Teaching Assistant: University of Hawai’i at Manoa (08/2022 - 07/2023 & 08/2025 - 01/2026)

Supporting the instructor to teach NREM 203 (Applied Calculus for Life, Management, and Business) class, preparing presentations for class materials, leading laboratory works, helping students with homework problems during office hours, and grading student assignments

Data Analytics Consultant: PT Mitra Silva Selaras (09/2023 - 05/2024)

Assisting the company team to develop web applications for processing raster data analysis from UAV and satellite imagery in generating essential information of forest inventory, such as fire vulnerability, floristic-wildlife diversity, and illegal-logging.

Research Assistant: University of Hawai’I at Manoa (08/2023 - 07/2025)

Supporting the professor to conduct a research on sandalwood-host interactions with three focus topics: (1) determining the balance of competition, facilitation, and parasitism between sandalwood and host plants; (2) evaluating the influence of forest community structure on the growth of both species; (3) modeling the effects of silviculture strategies on sandalwood-host interactions and their growth using multivariate path analysis.

Chief Technical Officer: PT Lumbung Muncul Sejahtera (07/2021 – 12/2025)

Leading and coordinating the company team to conduct data acquisition using UAV or satellite imagery and optimize the analysis of raster data derived from both instruments for supporting agricultural development in commercial plantations, such as rubber, oil palm, sugarcane, rice, and clove. The kind of anaysis provided for clients were plant counting, crop health, yield estimation, nutrient recommendation, carbon sequestration, etc.

Lecturer: Gadjah Mada University (01/2020 - 08/2022)

Teaching students about five-courses topics in forest science, including mathematics and statistics in forestry, forest biometrics, forest inventory, experimental design, and data science in forest management. Conducting research related to forest mensuration and modeling, covering: 1) developing allometric models for merchantable wood, carbon storage, and energy production of community forest tree species; (2) quantifying floristic and wildlife diversity in the tropical forest and mangrove; (3) evaluating the potential use of unmanned aerial vehicles and satellite imagery for supporting forest ecosystems monitoring; (4) determining the optimum planting design for plantation forestry and reforestation using decision analysis approach.

Agriculture and Forestry Consultant: PT Aerotek Global Inovasi (12/2019 - 11/2020)

Assisting the company team to tackle two important projects, namely: (1) examining the use of UAV for estimating timber production, plant diversity, and energy storage in Philippines community woodlot; (2) evaluating the use of UAV for quantifying clove bud production in Central Java.

Silviculture Researcher: PT Musi Hutan Persada (08/2018 - 04/2019)

Conducting research on eucalyptus plantation development related to silvicultural treatments, like fertilization, weed management, spacing, and clone-site interactions. Analyzing data from each experiment to formulate the best silvicultural practices for maximizing growth and yield.

Sustainability Staff: PT Anugerah Energitama (05/2016 - 05/2017)

Managing high conservation value area inside the land concession of oil palm plantation by conducting biodiversity monitoring, reforestation in degraded land, and habitat restoration for endemic wildlife species.

Junior Researcher: SurveyMETER (08/2014 - 04/2016)

Conducting biodiversity assessment on the mangrove restoration site in Flores Island and developing a model for estimating blue carbon stock using satellite imagery.
